“Beautiful Fabrics, Down to the Last Stitch.”
Meet Lisa
Lisa, Founder & Owner, Last Stitch Fabrics
Every quilt tells a story. Mine began generations ago.
Sewing has been part of my family for generations. My great-grandmother, Fay, was a talented quilter and seamstress whose handmade quilts and beautifully sewn clothing became treasured family heirlooms. My grandmother Shirley loved to sew, and some of my earliest memories were of watching her at the sewing machine. As I grew up, sewing became part of my life too.
After becoming a nurse, sewing and quilting took on a different meaning. Nursing can be demanding in so many ways, and sewing became an outlet where I could focus completely on the project in front of me and let go of the stresses of work for a while.
Over the years, I've made quilts and other projects for the people I love, experimented with fabrics and techniques, made mistakes, ripped out plenty of seams, and learned that sometimes the project you hadn't planned is the one you end up loving most.
My mother, Pamela, wasn't a quilter herself, but she treasured the handmade quilts, beautifully sewn clothing, and the memories they carried.
Growing up surrounded by those quilts—and the stories that came with them—taught me that quilts are much more than fabric and thread. They preserve memories, celebrate life's milestones, and become part of a family's history for generations to come.
Creating Last Stitch Fabrics was a natural extension of my love of sewing and quilting. When I choose fabrics for the shop, I look for quality, beautiful colors and prints, and collections that inspire ideas for new projects. My hope is that each one becomes part of something meaningful—a handmade creation that celebrates life's special moments, brings comfort and joy, or becomes a cherished family heirloom.
Thank you for visiting Last Stitch Fabrics and for supporting small businesses like mine.
Happy quilting,
Lisa
