How to Make a 4-Patch Coaster
Step 1: Choose 6-5” Squares and one 5” square of batting
Step 2: Decide which 2 you want for bottom and inside and put the other 4 (that will be the 4 on top) to the side.
Step 3: The fabric for the inside (the peekaboo fabric) lay flat with wrong side up, lay batting on top of that, next, lay the square you want on the bottom on top so it is right side up.
Step 4: Iron the other 4 squares in half.
Step 5: layer the 4 folded squares around your block in the order you want them to appear. Fold the 3rd strip back half-way as shown above, to nest 4th strip under and lock it in.
Step 6: Pin or wonder clip around the block and sew around using 1/4” inseam.
Step 7: Next, cut off the bulk around each corner, ensuring you don’t cut through your stitching.
Step 8: Turn the coaster inside out and use a point turner to get the corners nice and pointed.
